US steel service centers and reserves to reduce imports in October
Metal Service Center USA, said in May 10/2016, imports reached 3.074 million tons, up 0.8% compared with the previous month, down 8.6% compared to the same month last year. Accumulated imports reached 34.523 million tons in 2016, down 6.9% from the same period last year.
Reserve steel metals service centers totaled 7.277 million tons, down 18.4% compared to the same month last year, down 4.4% compared with the previous month.
US imports of steel pipes decreased
US Commerce Department data said on 15/11, in May 9/2016, imports totaled 59 582 tonnes of steel pipes, down 25% from 125 264 tonnes in the same month last year.

Estimated US rebar prices will rise again
Due to various factors, US rebar prices may continue rising 3rd.
In May 12/2016, scrap steel prices are expected to rise, but between December, Turkey, Taiwan and Japan remain high, with steel prices maintain stable imports. Therefore, prices will rise again.
