Steel prices in the North
According to SteelOnline.vn, Hoa Phat steel brand, with CB240 coil line reduced by 200 dong, from 14,900 dong/kg to 14,700 dong/kg, D10 CB300 rebar remained unchanged, priced at 15,090 dong/kg.
Vietnam Italy Steel also adjusted down 200 dong, currently CB240 coil steel is kept at 14,420 dong/kg, D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 14,800 dong/kg.
Viet Duc Steel with CB240 coils reduced by 200 dong, currently priced at 14,440 dong/kg, with D10 CB300 rebar at 15,000 dong/kg.
Viet Sing Steel, with CB240 coils down 200 dong at 14,620 dong/kg, D10 CB300 rebar at 14,970 dong/kg.
VAS steel, CB240 coil is now down 210 dong, down to 14,520 dong/kg, D10 CB300 rebar is still at 14,720 dong/kg.

Viet Duc Steel, CB240 coil line decreased by 200 dong, to 14,850 dong/kg, D10 CB300 rebar is 15,400 dong/kg.
VAS steel, currently CB240 coil line decreased by 200 dong, to 14,620 dong/kg, D10 CB300 rebar is 14,670 dong/kg.
Pomina steel, with CB240 coil line decreased by 310 VND, to 14,990 VND/kg, D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 15,500 VND/kg.
Steel prices in the South
Hoa Phat Steel reduced the selling price by 200 dong, 2 product lines. Currently: CB240 coil is at 14,720 VND/kg, D10 CB300 rebar is priced at 15,050 VND/kg.
VAS steel, CB240 coil line decreased by 210 VND, to 14,410 VND/kg, D10 CB300 rebar was priced at 14,720 VND/kg.
Pomina steel, CB240 coil line decreased by 310 VND, to 14,990 VND/kg, D10 CB300 rebar was priced at 15,550 VND/kg.
Tung Ho steel, with CB240 coil at 14,820 VND/kg, D10 CB300 rebar at 14,970 VND/kg.
Domestic steel fell for the 7th session
On May 25, 2023, the domestic price of construction steel continued to be adjusted down by enterprises from 200 to 510 VND/kg. Currently, steel price is around 14,360 - 15,500 VND/kg (depending on product and brand).
North: Hoa Phat Steel, down 200 VND/kg for CB240 coil, currently priced at 14,700 VND/kg. With D10 CB300 rebar, the price is unchanged, still at 15,090 VND/kg.
Viet Duc Steel, with CB240 coil, decreased by 200 VND/kg, currently at 14,440 VND/kg; while rebar D10 CB300 kept the price unchanged at 15,000 VND/kg.

In the South, Hoa Phat reduced 200 VND/kg for both CB240 coil and D10 CB300 rebar. These two products are currently priced at 14,920 VND/kg and 15,050 VND/kg, respectively.
Explaining the reason for the decrease in steel prices, businesses said that it was due to the same decline in the world. Moreover, the prices of input materials are in a downtrend.
According to the latest data of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), iron ore price on May 8, 2023 traded at 110 USD/ton CFR Tianjin port, China, down slightly by 10 USD/ton compared the beginning of April 2023.
Similarly, the export price of coking coal at the Australian port on May 8, 2023 traded at about $241/ton FOB, down $19/ton from the beginning of April 2023. The price is about 60% lower than the highest coke price recorded at the end of the first quarter of 2022.
Domestic scrap steel price adjusted down from 400 VND/kg to 600 VND/kg, keeping at 8,800 to 9,200 VND/kg. Import scrap price decreased by 20 USD/ton and remained at 410 USD/ton at the end of April 2023. Scrap steel price traded at Dong A port on May 8, 2023 at US$405/ton, down US$25 compared to the beginning of April 2023.
Thus, from the beginning of 2023 until now, the price of construction steel has had 7 downward adjustments, depending on the brand, the frequency of price adjustment will be different.
Vietnam's stainless steel wire does not evade US anti-dumping tax
On May 22, 2023, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) issued the final conclusion on the investigation of anti-dumping tax evasion with wire steel products. Round stainless steel imported from Vietnam.
According to the conclusion, Vietnam's round stainless steel wire manufactured from materials imported from Korea does not evade the anti-dumping tax that the United States is applying to similar products of Korea.
Steel prices fell 18 yuan/ton on the exchange
Steel price today delivered in October 2023 on the Shanghai Exchange fell 18 yuan to 3,422 yuan / ton.
Steel prices for January delivery in January 2024 fell 20 yuan to 3,370 yuan per ton.
