Steel prices dropped to VND200,000 / tonne

TT - On 4-1, steel prices continue to fall further VND200,000 / tonne from the previous month, the average was 10.3 to 10.4 million / ton, as the buyers in the market has signs of slowing down.
As a distributor of steel, steel prices are still in a downward trend due to reduced raw material prices, abundant supply, while steel imports remained the same types of lots. This forces businesses to reduce prices produced upstream to limit the amount of inventory.
The distributor also said that the investigation has yet to steel imports affect the steel price in the market, due largely imported products "run" straight into the building, not directly affected to steels common current consumption.
According to VN Steel Association, steel consumption in January was estimated at 570,000 tons 12-2015, although down 5% compared to December 11-2015 but is still very good consumption of steel in eight months consecutive years.
