According to statistics of the General Administration of Customs on the import of some goods in July and 7 months of the year, there are many items which tend to increase imports from China, including items steel.
Figures from the General Administration of Customs said that in the first 7 months, exports of iron and steel increased 80%, respectively, up 51 million. In afternoon imports, more than 11 million tons of steel were imported to Vietnam, a turnover worth more than $ 4.5 billion
In particular, steel imports from China reached more than 6.5 million tons, turnover reached 2.5 billion US dollars, up 60% in volume and 55% of the total market value of imports.
According to statistics of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), steel production across the whole sector in 7 months reached 9.9 million tons, while imports from China reached 6.5 million tons.
Also in the first 6 months, according to VSA said steel finished products and semi-finished products imported into Vietnam reached more than 11.9 million tons, with a total import value of over 4,345 billion dollars. In particular, the volume of steel imports from China amounted to more than 5.629 million tons, accounting for 58.28% of total steel imports.
