Iron and steel imports into Vietnam from China accounted for 61% of total imports of this commodity group in the country.
According to the General Department of Customs, imports of steel from China in October was 965,000 tons, up 25.5%. Accumulated 10 months, Vietnam has imported 7.7 million tons of steel from the market, worth $ 3.49 billion, up 62% and accounted for 61% of total imports of this commodity group.
In addition, imports of iron and steel products amounted to US $ 1.13 billion, up nearly 40%. Thus, the accumulated 10 months, the total value of imports of steel from China reached $ 4.6 billion.
Meanwhile, imports of iron and steel in the country was 1.48 million tons in October, worth $ 577 million, up 16.9% in volume and 3.2% in value compared to the previous month.
